Neighbors Invited to Farewell Open House at the Indulge shop
Sat., Jan. 10 (1-4pm): Lindsay Cobbs and Don Kirk, the owners of Indulge, the candle shop at 1601 Connecticut Ave., are inviting neighbors and friends of the store to an OPEN HOUSE for some of Don’s famous cider and light fare as they bid farewell to Dupont Circle; the store will close permanently on January 31st. They tell us that their decision was influenced by a convergence of the slowing economy requiring more of their time in the store while at the same time they need to maintain their own careers, thus placing an unwelcome burden on them in light of health issues affecting Lindsay.
Dupont Circle ANC to Meet

Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners will be considering a request by Kalorama Citizens Association (KCA) President Denis James and architect Volker Zinser for legal fee support for an appeal of the Hilton zoning case decision. See, “Hilton Washington Hotel’s Plan for Major Condo Tower Addition and Expanded Meeting Spaces Well Received by Preservation Board,” The InTowner, Oct. 2008, page 1; issue copy PDF available in Current & Back Issues Archive, www.intowner.com.)
Also to be considered will be a proposal by the city’s transportation department (DDOT) to eliminate rush hour restrictions and increase commercial loading zones on 17th Street.
